Garden of the Mind: The Art and Practice of Christi Belcourt

Artist and author Christi Belcourt will share her artistic vision and passion for the natural world during this exclusive seminar in Mia’s Pillsbury Auditorium. Get a firsthand look at her inspiration and process for creating Art in Bloom’s 2024 signature artwork, “It’s a Delicate Balance.”

The Friends of the Institute extend an invitation to a magical evening filled with food, drinks, flowers and art in celebration of 40 years of the floral fête. The soiree will culminate with the Artful Living Artful Afters Lounge, a rare after-hours experience where the fun and socializing will continue into the night.


STILL: The Art of Noticing by Mary Jo Hoffman

Join local author and artist Mary Jo Hoffman as she talks about her impressive 12-year photography project STILL, which inspired her upcoming homonymous book. Don’t miss the chance to learn about Hoffman’s unique creative practice and get a signed copy before the tome hits shelves May 1.


Meet at Mia: Open Studios

April 25 and 27

Drop into Mia’s open studios for adults and create your own artwork inspired by the museum’s collection or your own imagination. Try your hand at making a letterpress print with Minnesota Center for Book Arts on April 25 or immerse yourself in a still life workshop led by artist Lindsey Cherek Waller on April 27.

On April 28, enjoy a day of hands-on art exploration with the whole family in the Target Reception Hall. Flex your creative muscles with free art activities geared toward Art in Bloom’s younger guests, but fun for the whole crew.
